The SC Pump, a sustainable response to energy challenges
Changes in energy-saving regulations and the planned reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 are shaking up the various heating markets. SUNTEC's strategy is to keep pace with this evolution, and to think about alternative solutions. In response to these environmental challenges, we have been working closely with our customers on the mobile heating and high-pressure cleaning markets.
Thanks to our application knowledge of mobile heating equipment, it was observed that SUNTEC's standard internal gear pumps were generally oversized for these applications, resulting in excessive energy consumption. The idea of a smaller gear then emerged, and the desire to respond in a more global way to this energy-saving issue was born. The SUNTEC teams therefore looked at other features that could have an impact on consumption, and also facilitate the integration of the pump into the environment of mobile heating equipment.
The SC pump has been developed with all these factors in mind, and as a result has a smaller footprint, a lighter on-board mass than conventional pumps and, what's more, reduced gear capacity. This compact pump weighs less than 500g and can be integrated into the majority of product environments, with the option of customizing it to suit specific applications. The pump range includes various accessories to make it 100% interchangeable with standard SUNTEC pumps. The gear's performance in terms of throughput and energy consumption meets the specific needs of these markets. The pump generates a reduced, more stable flow while reducing energy consumption by 20 to 30%.
To reduce CO2 emissions, the SC pump has been developed in both a 1-stage and a 2-stage version. This two-stage pump offers 2 pressure modes for optimum adjustment of output. The switch between low and high pressure is controlled by a second solenoid valve.
This pump has been greeted with great interest by the main players in the mobile heating and high-pressure cleaning markets. The SC pump has been tested by a majority of manufacturers with very encouraging results, which have led some players to integrate it into their new product development. In addition, this SC pump range opens up new prospects for SUNTEC, both in terms of product development and new markets.
